hello.

My name is Emily. You can also call me EKG.

I’m an illustrator, teacher, designer, and activist. My goal as an artist is to bridge the gap between visualization and communication, and to use my work to tell stories and raise awareness.

I am an alumni of the Savannah College of Art and Design (2021) in Savannah, Georgia, where I received BFA in Illustration with a concentration in Illustration for Publication, and Animated Illustration. I currently live, teach, and work in Brooklyn, New York.

I am a teaching artist. I have taught several classes for kids, teens, and adults, in addition to one-off workshops, fundraisers, after-school enrichment, and portfolio-building courses across the New York Metropolitan area.

Some of my clients have included Wall Street Journal, The Essential Spirits, and Dudley Associates. My work has also been shared by icons and organizations such as Netflix, Strong Black Lead (Netflix), actor Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things, Concrete Cowboy), freestyle musician Marc Rebillet, and Hayley Williams of pop-alternative band Paramore.

I’ve done a lot in a short amount of time- from graphic web design for local businesses, commissions for big publications, dabbling in portraiture, and combining my love of sad indie music and illustration. There’s so much more that I can’t wait to do.
